Imagine this,
Your going to buy a funny.com and a day before you tell you friend about it and next day when you try to buy it, its bought by your friend. Did he "steal" your domain?
Your domain is expeiring tonite and you were fast asleep and your neighbour in the night nabbed it. Is it right?
Would you'll term it as stealing? Before you answer, consider what would you do if it happens with you.
Well, its really frustrating especially now that its very hard to search for a good domain name. But I won't call it stealing though as you don't have the ownership yet. Just be secretive the next time.

Yes, I would not call it stealing as it would have been my responsibility to renw the Domain before someone else gets his hands on it.
But It is a different case with a friend as I would have told him about the domainname coz I trust him and if he cheats on me then thats called Cheating,Backstabbing but not Stealing :)
Regards,
Kulwinder.
Its really difficult to trust others even if its your friend, so try to keep it to yourself then. Maybe you can confront your friend so at least just to make him feel guilty.

it is fair
if you can not get the domain first, then you lose.
if someone get the chance in front of you
then nothing to say

The only stealing here is that your friend stole your idea
He did not steal the domain name as It was not in your possession
Sorry

You should have been smart enough to keep your mouth shut. Then its hard when you are with your friend.

This would never happen to me. You never share ideas with others for this very reason. You alerted your friend to an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Stealing is when you take someone else's property. The domain was not yours so it was not stolen.

I wouldn't consider this person to be my friend. If I think of a domain, I either buy it right away or just not tell anyone about it until I can make the purchase. It's sad that you can't trust certain people but really the business world is dog eat dog.

That "friend" totally stole your idea! He is no friend you should refer to him as your "fiend". (unless he did it for the lulz, that is)
