i found out that .tk is actually a real ccTLD but the only problem with it is that is is free... although that sounds good really it isnt your domain unless you pay for it and apparently .tk have a tendancy to redirect your domain to the registration page rather than to your site.
I used to think .tk was good but now i kinda think it is a little bit crap... anyone else got any views on .tk?

.tk domain names are crap/horrible. I have a couple of sites I advertise using my .tk domain name but after 2 months they change my pages into a lot of ads and my visitors slowly started disappearing and I had a build a new site with .com.
you're right, I actually haven't tried them even when I just started with my sites coz I really don't like them. My friends use them and ads were really discouraging your visitors.

Sounds like someone is tricking you to purchase sites that they are using blackhat on that is just IMO though watch out for scams online there are alot.

.tk i guess is good for beginners who don't really take domain names and their website seiously. most of my friends have .tk coz they think its really cool to have their personal website.

Exactly..... .tk is not for the serious site owner........
Yea surely you can get a free .tk domain but wait, you can only use it for redirection purposes (pretty much kills the concept of a real domain). They also have ads (I know you can turn them off but many people still don't know about this option).
