why all of a sudden does every one want to buy a .ws and why do some big companies use it? supposedly it means website: youname.ws yeah we could probably gather that it would be a website.

i cant remeber what country code it is but it really is a crap way of markteing it by saying it stands for website. Anyway why would people want to pay for that instead of .com, net, org whatever. really doesnt make sense.

Its from a company GDI actually whose into MLM business. They are selling it for $10 per month for your membership to them. You will then earn a dollar everytime you refer someone. Some were making big money with this though.

I dont think many people buy .ws for their commercial websites. This ccTLD is only good if you have a super generic name like humor.ws, fun.ws or something similar. I personally never registered a .ws domain.
