We have an ecommerce client that sells a retail product online, lets say “widgets”, under their company branded domain name
We see that there are some people searching for domain names related to the products they sell such as “widgets . com”.
Some of these domains are available.
What is the best way to use these domains without spamming?
Ideally we want at least the domain name to be returned high in the search results if someone searches on the domain name.
We know from experience that just registering a domain name and using a 301 won’t do the job. I the was never any content at the domain and never any links to it the domain won’t be returned in the SERPS.
I suspect the situation will be the same for a 302 redirect?
This probably means we need some content at the domain name. We really just want to redirect people to the client’s main web site.
Is there a safe way to add content to a web site under related domain names so that if gets found for searches on the domain name, without it being considered spam by the search engines?
