Will privacy hurt my SEO?

Hi, I have a domain subscribed to the privacy option because it was offered as free when I registered for the domain.
Now I read somewhere that Google doesn't look highly on registrants hiding behind proxies. Will this affect my SEO? If yes, how much is the impact?

Bots like to know every thing about you. Remember google is trying to be the internet. Any site which restricts google's access won't be seen in good spirit.

No, privacy doesn't have anything to do with the domain. Most of the domains will be in the privacy mode.
