Some registrar I've encountered have charges on their domain features. They require a fee for domain forwarding and nameservers management. Why is this so? Other well known registrar offer this for free.

Every registrar has their own policies. If you look at Moniker's prices, they are too damn high if you compare with NameCheap or Godaddy. Some registrars offers whois protection for free and some charge for it. Its just matter of registrar's policy.

So maybe just to balance their pricing with the competition. They are offering other free features.

Well they may just be like that. You probably want to go with another domain hosting so they do not charge you for such things. I use a dedicated server now because there were to many websites/domains on my current godaddy hosting so that may be a way you think about going as well.

How much do you spend for your dedicated server now? And were you able to recover it back with your monthly revenues?

Domain names from eNom offer more free value-added features but their yearly registration fee is a little over 15$ which is comparitively higher than most other domain registrant . If you are going for a cheap registrant , you aint suppose to expect many add on features with the domains purchased .

Hello All,

Dailyearner, can you please elaborate on your concern regarding eNom, as your post is
a criticism of them. I've seen unfair criticisms of companies, and want ot keep our forum
here as professional as possible.

Yes, there are plenty of registrars (and web hosts, web design, etc...) that offer "free"
services. But most times, you get what you pay for!
