I have seen this meta tags on some of the websites I visited. I'm curious what does it mean? Will it help in your ranking?

<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="FOLLOW,INDEX">

That tag supposedly tells the search engine spiders to "index the page" and "follow links" on the page.....

It'd believed to not actually work at all anymore.....

On the other hand, the tags "noindex" and "nofollow" are used and obeyed....

The search engines will then "not index" the page and "not follow" any links on the page....

Oh I see, I actually copied it to my own sites hoping it will help me. I'm not that familiar with SEO codes that much.

Yea, it allows a search engine to follow and index the rest of your site but there are disadvantages such as pages that should not be index usually and always get index in their cach system and its annoying because people can see stuff they are not suppose to, so I have a question:

-How do u remove a page from a search engine cach?

Yes I heard this was also a dead thing to have in your pages as well now thanks for confirming this for me green rep added. :) This is something you have to watch out for everyone the web is changing all the time you need to be aware so you don't get left behind.

What if one make it nofollow? Will it consider all links on that particular page as a nofollow attribute? I usually use the nofollow tag with a particular link only.

Follow and no follow tags are used for a while to indicate whether you want search engine to index your page or not. But all search engines don't obey this. So this may not be of much use in actual practice.
