Is there a tool to do image slicing? I want to learn this so I can just buy a layout header and do the coding myself. But what is the purpose usually for image slicing in your design?

You can use Adobe ImageReady to slice your websites into HTML code. You just use the slice tool and slice/divide your design into sections, then it creates a valid HTML/XHTML code for you, but it doesn't give you CSS I think.

Image Slicing is used to for harder designs which would take years coding it by hand, with image slicing you can do it in a few minutes/hours. Hope that answers your question!

Could you please rephase your question? But if you are talking about cutting up an image in photoshop here is a really good site that has examples: http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/photoshop/basics/image-slicing/

I guess the most popular is using ImageReady by Adobe.

This comes with photoshop, the entire InDesign suite.

I still dont know how it works.
