View Full Version : SEO on forum
I run a forum but I don't do much on SEO. I just visit regularly at TAZ (http://wwwtheadminzone.com) and it helped me a lot. Especially their exchange group. Any other ways to market your forum aside from contest?

I would suggest getting quality links linking to your forum website, getting links from PR6+ will surely get you indexed into google and also give you a PR1+, buy more and your PR will increase and so will your SERPs. Marketing a forum is all about advertising at the start, then you do SEO on it
This is my opinion anyway, just my 2 cents :P.

Some forum softwares have actually a mod for SEO just like smf. You can use it as it would be easy for you.
You can buy a SEO Mod if you are using vbulletin. I think SEO mod is available for all forums now (Like IPB, SMF, PhpBB etc). Its great because it generates search engine friendly URLs.
How about Mybb? Is there a mod for that? Hope there is as I will make a mybb forum.

Yes, you can basically get Vbulletin SEO.
It mainly does URL mod apache re-write, and makes search engine friendly urls.
VB SEO says it does other stuff, but im not sure what.
