Domain Transfer

I just had a domain transferred to Godaddy. How long it usually be transferred to my account as they said its 30 days since they need to contact my current registrar. Is this true?

If they said so then it must be true..Have patience they will do it in 30 days

But that's only an allowance, I've read somewhere that only took about 5 days.
Well this is my first time to transfer, I just hope everything goes well, but no worry though as I transfer it in godaddy.

It can take 2-7 days depending on gaining and losing registrar. Both registrars send you email one by one and you'll have to approve it by clicking a link or entering the special code onto their website. The delay is probably because of switching to other ICANN Accredited registrar.

Downtime? I dont think there is any downtime while you transfer your domains from a registrar to another (It can only happen if you change your nameservers). Thats probably because of your webhost.

Godaddy is very fast with any changes.... For me they are almost instant, it's the other registrars I have to wait for...

One time I registered a domain name with godaddy and by the time I logged into the account and changed the name servers, I was able to upload my site.... It was nothing short of amazing...

You're right sufi, what I meant there was the change of nameservers to my host so that's where the downtime occurs. But I could say, Godaddy has really a fast service.

On Godaddys website, I read where it takes up to 5 business days for a transfer, so I would say it should be happening soon , not sure abt the 30 days time .

If it has taken longer than that, then there is really something wrong.
