There are many websites which offer articles related to domain names. Even my site has quite few of them. You can read these to gain experience. You can also learn from domain forums (Like DomainNameForumz.com :)). Forum members are always very helpful.

I agree, this forums has a lot of information and the members are friendly. but its still different if there's something an ebook or a guide.
