I'm learning some good html and currently some php. I usually pay for my designs and coding but now I do it on my own. I just learned it myself and I find php more easy to use.

Yea, I design my sites myself but its sometimes really hard because:
-One would have to move from a programmer mind set to a designer mind set
-Also coder think differently from an average user and therefore an average user might now know how to use the page design by a coder.

I don't always design my own websites. I put up a contest up somehwhere give them the idea of what colors I want and then pick from the best and award a contest prize out to the best template for the web page. It's a great way to get a professional looking template for 100$ . Along with new banner ect.

I always design my own sites and I design sites for other people also :P I don't really get satisfied if I hire another designer to do my work. Since I'm always picky, I tend to just pick out their flaws on the design a lot so it'd just be better if I make my own designs :P

I suck at graphic designing so I have hired a web designer on permanent basis. However, I make the layout myself by coding on notepad or by using Microsoft Frontpage.

I don't know, I feel weird buying something from someone that I can make myself. I design my own stuff. Even though it is the basic blogger format I have put together a lot of neat tools I found from various resources on my blog. I like to come up with my own ideas but lately that market is saturated.
