Shoutbox

How about a shoutbox? It would build a good relationship with members as they can interact directly with each other. But just a suggestion though coz some don't like it as people don't post anymore but just on the shoutbox.

Will talk to the admin about adding it. But I think GENERAL OFF TOPIC covers this :) it is where you can talk to other members :D without having to talk about domain names ;)

I personally hate a Shoutbox.
As it spoils the looks of the Forums and also it terminates the whole concept of a Forum :)
A forum involves posting and not chatting :)

You got a point Kulwinder. I actually remove it from my own forum as the post count decreases. But some people find it a good idea as you can interact with other members more.

Alot of people like the shout box, but you know - your right, it does riun the whole concept of a posting board and I didn't even realize that it was likely to contribute to slow or less posting.....

I also personally hate shout boxes because, its hard to maintain and manage. I think this forum is still at a young stage and a shout box would not work as well. Maybe in the future, but in all my other forums, I also removed the shoutbox, becasue people were fighting on it, advertising, posting links, going off topic, and the shoutbox serves no purpose. (I mean if they want to talk about domain names just post it on the forum.)

Anyways this is just my 2 cents

Yes, It is amusing but it spoils your forum's image and people rather prefer not to join a community where people flame each other :)

If you have a forum with alot of members the only thing you will see in the shoutbox is spam!
