Auto submissions

There are plenty of sites that offer free directory and search engine submissions and of course the process is auto. Someone told me that this isn't liked by Google and it thinks it as SPAM because all the backlinks are built in just one night. What do you think?

If that's the case I would then choose those doing manual submissions. I have a contact with someone doing this so I think it is more preferable.

Don't do any autosubmission.Its a huge waste.Why can't you hire someone to do it manually.PM I can offer it at cheap rates.
