Exclamation Joomla! and SEO
'm considering migrating my current site (static web pages) into Joomla!. I rank pretty high in all 3 major search engines and do not want to lose these rankings, what do you suggest? Should I go for Joomla!? Should I redirect the highly ranked pages? I'm a bit worried but my site's growing and I need some kind of CMS. Any other option?

The one thing I don't like about these CMS programs is the loss of control of some elements of your web pages.... If you 301 redirect the old pages to the new pages on the CMS system, you shouldn't loss the rankings, but what would worry me is if the new CMS pages you create would rank as well as your static pages have done for you in the past...

That's the catch 22 of using a CMS, it's easier, but not always the best way to go.... So every site is a different senario... New projects should be started with a good CMS, but I'm not sure old projects should be changed into them.... I've seen some great sites turn to crap after they tryed to take the easy route migration.
