Ok, im currently in the beta stage (fixing bugs, redoing the look of one of my sites). I really want a particualr url, but its currently used...but not for long!

The url i want was:
Created 30 Sep 2006
Expires on 30 Sep 2008

The page hasnt been updated since Oct 2007...is there a method of "booking" domain names?

You could backorder the domain, but that does not mean you'll get it... Backordering a domain lets a registrar try to grab it if it expires. Remember there is a 45 day wait period before a name will become available.. So even if the name expired, it's likely not to be available until after around November 14th...

Every situation is different.. Sometimes contacting the owner is worth it... Depending on what registrar has the name, sometimes watching it closely will help you get it... If it is at Godaddy, it may wind up in a www.TDNam.com auction after is expires... Otherwise www.SnapNames.com is a good bet for securing an expiring domain.

well why don't you go for purchasing a domain name??. There are some cheap sellers availble in the market like godaddy and name.com. I advise you to buy instead of booking domain.
