Blogs seem to be doing really well in the search engines these days which is why they continue to grow rapidly in popularity.... If your not using at least one blog for both visability and marketing for search engines, there is no better time than right now to get started.
The best blog software seems to be www.wordpress.org
The software is being used maily as a CMS (Content Management System) and the updates are often - yet pretty simple as long as you don't have too much customization done outside of your template if your using a custom one.
