I heard this process was not an easy one and really wanted any help you web savvy people can give me. I am trying to transfer my domain name to my namescheap account, and this is proving quite difficult for me to accomplish. I would like any help with this A.S.A.P. How would I go aobut doing this ?

Where is the domain now? Most of the time there is a fee to move a domain from one carrier to another.....
Moving between accounts within the same company is usually free, but when you are moving to another registrar, most of the time, there is a fee involved.....
usually costs about the same price as registering a domain and some of the registrars give you an additional free year with the transfer....

I guess it depends on which company you are transfering your domain from.
IF in this case it is Yahoo, then I guess that the registrars will give you 1 additional year free. :)
Goodluck with it.

Yes I just transfer my domain from a local registrar to Godaddy and hopefully before the 5th day of today, it will be completed. I just hope no problems may arise on the transfer as it is my first time.

I heard transferring a domain from yahoo is not possible.... I think that is very misleading... They need to make it more obvious in the registration process... No-one is going to read the fine print.
Its useless then if ever its non transferrable. Better find some other registrars that you can have full control of your domain.

I actually thinking of getting a domain from yahoo since its fairly cheap. But what if I'll just transfer it once it expires? Is there still a problem?
You can not transfer domains from Yahoo to other registrar unless it expires and is available to register again. Once you register a domain there, it will stay for life.

I wouldn't recommend it because you can lose your domain if someone else registers it after expiration.
